Professor Taminiaux is actively involved in university teaching, research and service at Georgetown since the fall of 1991.

In addition, Professor Pierre Taminiaux pursues a wide range of creative activities, both in literature and the visual arts.

In this regard, he has recently given several poetry readings of his own work, in particular a series of four readings at the Alliance Francaise of Washington DC between 2008 and 2014, and has also exhibited some 100 art works (paintings, drawings and photographs) both in his native Belgium and in the United States. Moreover, he has presented a series of 12 art projects in the field of conceptual photography in various graduate seminars and international conferences both on the East Coast of the United States (Georgetown University, American University, University of Maryland-Baltimore County, New York University) and in Europe (University of Malta, University of Ankara, University of London-Queen Mary, University of Wales-Aberystwyth,University of Paris 1-Sorbonne, University of Paris 7, Catholic University of Porto).

The wide range of his academic interests is also reflected in his teaching. Professor Taminiaux concentrates particularly in his advanced courses on the relationship between 20th century French literature and the visual arts, with a specific emphasis on poetry and photography.

At the same time, Professor Taminiaux serves as a student advisor and on various committees in both the French Department and at the University level.
