Bio
Roger W. Shuy founded the sociolinguistics program when he came to Georgetown as a full professor in 1968. He periodically headed that program and later chaired the department before he retired in 1998. He now lives in Missoula, Montana where he continues to be active as he consults on law cases and writes books and articles about forensic linguistics.
