Bio
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oncology at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, and a member of the LCCC Breast Cancer Program. I am also an active member of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) and the Women in Cancer Research (WICR) organizations.
My research is primarily focused on studying the cellular and molecular mechanisms of hormone independence and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer; my lab is particularly interested in orphan nuclear receptor and MAPK signaling in the context of resistance, and the pathogenesis of invasive lobular breast carcinoma. One of our new research directions is the study of the interaction(s) between exposure to the endocrine disruptor Bisphenol A (BPA) and obesity in affecting the risk of developing insulin resistance and breast cancer in animal models.
