Bio

Preeti Choudhary joined the McDonough School after completing her Ph.D. in Business Administration (Accounting) at the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University. She has taught courses in financial accounting, accounting information systems and managerial accounting at Fuqua, the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia, and the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. She has also worked as an internal auditor at The Washington Post Company and as an auditor on the Enterprise Risk Services staff of Deloitte & Touche.

In addition to her Ph.D., Dr. Choudhary received an MS in Accounting and a BS in Commerce from the McIntire School at the University of Virginia. She has co-authored several teaching cases on accounting issues and customer satisfaction for Harvard Business School.

Dr. Choudhary has presented research papers on accounting at several conferences. She has also received a number of awards and honors, including the David W. Thompson Award given to a graduating accounting student from the University of Virginia, and an appointment as a Fellow to the American Accounting Association Doctoral Consortium. Her research interests include earnings management, information quality and accounting choices.
