Priscilla A. Furth, MD, is a physician-scientist and professor of oncology and medicine studying cancer genetics in the laboratory who also enjoys providing fitness and metabolism consults for cancer survivors in the clinic. A graduate of Yale University School of Medicine and trained at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City and Harvard Medical School, she completed fellowships at the Max Planck Institute in Germany and NCI, NIH. In the laboratory, Dr. Furth works in the areas of disease pathogenesis, cancer and development with an emphasis on improving our understanding of disease pathophysiology in order to improve strategies for cancer prevention. Her current research focuses on understanding estrogen-signaling-induced initiation and progression of breast cancer at the molecular level in order to develop strategies to reverse it.
