Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh, where he earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration (Accounting). He received an MBA from The George Washington University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Kansas. Dr. Schloetzer's research investigates the role of managerial accounting and control practices in the stewardship of the modern organzation. His recent research examines accounting phenomena from an economic perspective, including empirical issues related to performance measurement, managerial incentives, and bargaining power between managers and the board of directors, and among firms in the value chain. His research interests include supply chain relationships, performance measurement systems, managerial incentives and corporate governance. He has presented his work at various conferences and universities. Prior to his career as an academic, Dr. Schloetzer worked in the telecommunications industry for seven years as an internal auditor, conducting audits in more than 30 countries. Dr. Schloetzer is a member of the American Accounting Association and the Institute of Management Accountants. Education
