Bio

B.S., University of Maryland; J.D., Georgetown. Professor Hecht is the founder of One Economy, a national nonprofit organization committed to maximizing the potential of technology to help people build assets and get out of poverty. Prior to One Economy, he was Senior Vice President for Program Services at the Enterprise Foundation, a national housing and community development organization. He has worked as a staff accountant at Coopers & Lybrand and as an attorney at Boasberg & Norton. Professor Hecht previously managed GULC's housing and community development clinical program. He is the author of Managing Nonprofits.org (John Wiley & Sons, 2001), Developing Affordable Housing: A Practical Guide for Nonprofit Organizations (John Wiley & Sons, 1994) and Managing Affordable Housing: A Practical Guide for Creating Stable Communities (John Wiley & Sons, 1996).
