Emma Gannagé is Associate Professor in the department of Arabic and Islamic Studies. She holds a D.E.A and a PhD (1998) in Ancient and Medieval Philosophy from the University of Paris I – Sorbonne.
Before joining Georgetown Faculty, she taught Ancient and Medieval Philosophy in the department of Philosophy at Saint-Joseph University, Beirut, where she was also the Director of the Centre Louis Pouzet s.j. d’étude des civilisations anciennes et médiévales.
She is also the editor of the Mélanges de l’Université Saint-Joseph (http://www.bo.usj.edu.lb/files/melanges.htm), a renowned periodical in the field of Oriental Studies which celebrated its 100 anniversary in 2006.
She was a member of the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton (2006-2007).
