Desha M Girod
Department of Government
Professor Girod specializes in international and comparative political economy of developing countries. Specifically, she focuses on foreign aid and the resource curse. Her book on post-conflict reconstruction is forthcoming from Oxford University Press. Her research also appears or is forthcoming in the American Journal of Political Science, International Organization, the Quarterly Journal of Political Science, Comparative Political Studies, Conflict Management and Peace Science, and the Journal of North African Studies. She is a faculty affiliate of Georgetown's African Studies Program and a member of the Executive Committee of Georgetown's Center for Latin American Studies. Professor Girod received her Ph.D. in Political Science from Stanford. She also held a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford's Center on Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law.
