Bio
Bryan McCann teaches courses on Colonial and Modern Latin America, particularly Brazil. Professor McCann has published works on a wide range of topics in Modern Brazilian history, from the labor hierarchies of nineteenth-century coffee plantations to the rise to preeminence of Brazilian volleyball. His books investigate the history of favela politics in Rio de Janeiro, the history of Brazilian radio and popular music, and the transformation of Brazil since the 1980s.
