Bio

The founder and chairman of the American Business Leadership Institute, Adonis Hoffman is a lawyer, business advisor and leadership strategist in Washington, DC.

Hoffman has served as a legal and communications counselor to CEOs, elected officials, trade associations, universities and foreign governments, and has helped organizations to address the global challenges of corporate responsibility, including mandates to build strategic partnerships, engage stakeholders, improve shareholder value and implement sustainable business, marketing and communications practices.

Hoffman's professional career includes senior posts in government, law and business. He was a key advisor to the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC); counsel to the U.S.House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs; counsel to the chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus, and advisor to the Lieutenant Governor of California. He continues to serve as counsel to the American Association of Advertising Agencies, and previously was managing director of the Capitol Exchange Corporation and attorney with the law firm of Hopkins & Sutter. He held senior research positions at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and the World Policy Institute, and served as a Distinguished Visitor at The New School.

Hoffman serves on the advisory board of the Corporate Counsel Institute at Georgetown University Law Center, and on the First Amendment Advisory Council of The Media Institute.

He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of International Trade and the United States Supreme Court.
