Technologies under investigations can be used to address questions regarding epithelial-stromal interaction, cancer precursor cell identification, and prediction of drug response and resistance. These include reflectance confocal microscopy for virtual histologic investigation in vivo and primary cell culture with time-lapse imaging and single cell tracking to assess differences in cell fate between high and low breast cancer risk populations and measure therapeutic response.
