Development of genetically engineered mouse models of luminal A and B and triple-negative/basal types of human breast cancer
1998- Development and utilization of genetically engineered mouse models of luminal A and B and triple-negative/basal types of breast cancer. The novel mouse models developed in the Furth Lab include conditional mouse models of ERalpha over-expression in mammary epithelial cells, aromatase over-expression in the mammary gland and AIB1/AIB1delta 3 over-expression. The laboratory combines these mice with those developed by others (e.g. gene deficiency: Brca1, p53, Stat5a, Cyclin D1) and over-expression: Cyclin D1) to generate models of specific genetic profiles found in human populations. |
