Gene and environment interactions in birth defects
1987- A variety of projects, some completed and some ongoing, are using questionnaire data and stored blood specimens of infants with heart malformations to examine interactions among prenatal environmental exposures and genetic factors that mediate susceptibility to the effects of toxicants. Parallel studies on childhood leukemia and brain tumors are in progress. |
