2002-

This NIH Fogarty International Center-funded project established a tobacco smoking prevention research center in Egypt, as a collaboration between U.S. and Egyptian scientists. Included within the initiative is a comprehensive range of training, outreach, media advocacy, and human subjects research. The program aims to build an infrastructure in Egypt capable of sustaining basic and applied research into measuring and preventing the harmful effects of tobacco exposure in the population.
