“Più eretico d’ogni altro frate tragediante in quel secolo.’ Francesco Ringhieri, monaco e drammaturgo, tra testi, polemiche e documenti.”

Cicali, Gianni . "“Più eretico d’ogni altro frate tragediante in quel secolo.’ Francesco Ringhieri, monaco e drammaturgo, tra testi, polemiche e documenti.”." Quaderni d’Italianistica 31.1 (2010): 91-139.

The article presents archive documents on the staging, in Florence, of two texts by Francesco Ringhieri (1721-1787), who was an olivetan monk and probably the most succesful author of tragedies of 18th-century Italy. Through documents and texts, the study explores the 'theatrical art' of Ringhieri. In appendix, the corpus operis of Ringhieri, and an abstract from one of his tragedies.
