Concealment and Disclosure

John Morrell et. al.. "Concealment and Disclosure." Group exhibition of sixty-nine artists in all media, curated by Jeff Miller and invitational committee. Atlantic Gallery, 135 West 29th St, Suite 601, New York, NY 10001, June 21 - July 23, 2011.

Snails withdraw. Peacocks display. Plants push blindly through the earth to reach the shores of light. Diaphanous veils reveal as well as cover. Diplomatic cables may be leaked, hypocrites may be outed, while purloined letters may safely hide in plain sight all the while. Freudians slip. And pay no attention to that man behind the curtain! Atlantic Gallery’s Summer Invitational will explore the dialectic of Concealment & Disclosure, touching on themes of Hiding, Secrecy and Shame, and their counterpart: Exposure, whether voluntary, forced or unwitting.
