It examines how succession is likely to take place and analyzes the recent constitutional amendments in 2005 and 2007 and their likely implications on the succession process. The article also discusses the US position on Egyptian succession, the country's stability during the succession process and the conditions and challenges Egypt's next ruler will likely face.
