Phone202-687-9012 Location3 Lauinger BioBill Olsen has been Principal Social Sciences Bibliogrpaher in Lauinger Library since 2006. His primary areas of responsibility in collection development include Government, SFS, GPPI, Security Studies, Anthropology, and Africa studies. Prior to working at Georegetown, he taught anthropology and African studies for seven years at Brigham Young University. He has been involved in collections in several academic and law libraries. His anthropological research focuses on ethno-medicine, pluralistic forms of healing and medical practice, and on divination and its contingencies for medical therapy as found in the Asante zone of western central Ghana. His doctoral dissertation focuses on local practices of witch-finding and British colonial attempts to suppress and regulate these medico-religious practices.
