Richard Waldhorn, MD, chair of the Department of Medicine, has served on the Georgetown faculty since 1981. Dr. Waldhorn has lectured and published extensively in his area of expertise—the diagnosis and management of sleep disorders. In 1984, he established the Georgetown University Hospital Sleep Disorders Center and continues to serve as its medical director. Dr. Waldhorn previously served as chief of the division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and as Vice Chair of the Department of Medicine. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Waldhorn has been listed among the “Best Doctors in America” since 1998. He is an expert on sleep issues including jet lag, sleep apnea, and insomnia.
