Bio

Dennis Todd is an Associate Professor of English. He is an expert in Eighteenth-century (18th) American and British literature and culture; Defoe, Swift and Pope; and European encounters with New World cultures.

Todd earned his Ph.D. from Emory University and B.A. from the University of California at Riverside.

Selected Publications Todd has written include: Imagining Monsters (1995) and Eighteenth-Centure Genre and Culture (editor); articles on Pope, Swift, Hogarth, Arbuthnot, and early science.

Todd is currently working on a project on Defoe's novels and indentured servitude in America.
