Sara D. Schotland is currently teaching Law and Literature at Georgetown University Law Center; courses on Disability, Literature of War, and Utopian Studies in Georgetown University's English Department; and a course on Eighteenth Century-Enlightenment and Revolution at Georgetown's School of Continuing Studies. She also teaches or has taught courses on Disability Studies, Utopian Studies, War Stories, the Death Penalty, and Law and Literature at the University of Maryland Honors College. She is Senior Counsel at Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen, & Hamilton LLP. Mrs. Schotland practiced litigation in Cleary Gottlieb's Washington office from 1972-2008, becoming a partner in 1980. Her practice centered on litgigation in the fields of product liability, international torts, and antitrust; and on a rgulatory practice in the fields of energy and environmental law. Mrs. Schotland retired from law practice in 2008. She earned her B.A. from Harvard College, her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, her M.A. in English literature from Georgetown, and her PhD in English literature form the University of Maryland, College Park
