While there he worked on the implementation and analysis of fluid mechanics simulations using lattice-gas automata. He joined the Georgetown University faculty in 1992 as an Assistant Professor of Computer Science. In 1999 he became an Associate Professor, and was Chair of the Computer Science Department from 2001-2004. In 2002 he was named the Wright Family Professor of Computer Science. Prof. Squier’s research interests include parallel computer architecture, scientific computing, the physics of computation, non-standard computation, computation in homogeneous bulk media, and social values conflicts in science and religion.
