Bio
Professor Spendelow teaches several courses on China (including one on Sino-Russian relations) and World History. He also supervises the Department's Senior Honors Seminar. With a research focus on Sino-Russian interaction in Manchuria, his first book project is "Russia's South Manchurian Adventure: The Liaodong Leasehold and China's Resistance to Imperialism, 1889-1905". He has also been researching Chinese popular resistance to the Russian occupation of Manchuria in 1900.
