Department of Biology

Steven Singer is co-director of the Center for Infectious Disease, an associate professor in the Department of Biology and an adjunct associate professor at the Lombardi Cancer Center. He is an expert in the fields of immunology and parasitology, particularly intestinal parasites such as Giardia lamblia. Giardia is a waterborne parasite, common in rivers and lakes in the United States and is the leading parasitic cause of diarrhea in this country and around the world.
