An neuroendocrinologist, he is interested in the study of endocrine hormones in the central nervous system and the pituitary. He studies a mechanism called stimulus-secretion-transcription coupling, a process in which the transcription activity of a gene is coupled to, and regulated by, the secretory activity of the neuron. He is especially interested in vasopressin and oxytocin, neuroendorine hormones synthesized within neurons of the brain. Education
