Raphael Calel is Assistant Professor in Environmental Economics at the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University. He is an applied economist working on environmental and climate change policy evaluation. His most recent work investigates the economic impacts of the emissions trading programs, especially the EU Emissions Trading System. His work also examines the economic implications of uncertainty in climate change forecasts.

Raphael is a Visiting Fellow at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at the London School of Economics and Political Sciences, and recently completed his term as Ciriacy-Wantrup Postdoctoral Fellow at UC Berkeley. He holds a B.A. from the University of Cambridge, an M.Sc. from the University College London, and a Ph.D. from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
