Professor Choudhary is interested in the capital market effects of financial reporting. She is an expert in topics about recognition versus disclosure and financial reporting for leases, employee stock options, and taxes. Dr. Choudhary has presented her work at many conferences and her work has been published in the following leading accounting journals: The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Research, and Journal of Accounting and Economics. Recently she was awarded a Research Fellowship to conduct financial reporting and auditing research at the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board.

She joined the McDonough School at Georgetown University after completing her Ph.D. in Business Administration (Accounting) at the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University. In addition to her Ph.D., Dr. Choudhary received an MS in Accounting and a BS in Commerce from the McIntire School at the University of Virginia. Dr. Choudhary is a (retired) certified public accountant. Her professional experience includes working as an auditor on the Enterprise Risk Services staff of Deloitte and Touche LLP and as an internal auditor at the Washington Post Company.
