Bio
Prof. Mihaychuk has been at Georgetown University since 1989. He teaches from first- to third-level Russian courses and first-level and tutorial classes in Ukrainian.
In addition to teaching languages, he offers a range of courses on Russian literature, from general surveys, such as Nineteenth (19th)Century Russian Literature (second half), to upper level courses on Chekhov and Russian Literary Modernism.
His research interests include issues in late-nineteenth (19th)century Russian literature, a discourse or functional approach to narration, Ukrainian literature (from the 1860s to 1930s), and translation. He is currently working on a study of Chekhov and has recently translated The People's Prophet (Narodnyi Malakhii) by Mykola Kulish.
