Bio
Professor Schruers is Vice President for Law & Policy at the Computer & Communications Industry Association. He joined CCIA from Morrison & Foerster LLP, where he practiced intellectual property, antitrust, and administrative law. He has written or co-written various articles on intellectual property and secondary liability. As a representative of technology industries, he has testified before the U.S. Copyright Office on exemptions to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and has served as an NGO observer in committees of the World Intellectual Property Organization. He was notes advisor for the Virginia Law Review, and received the John M. Olin Prize in Law and Economics for his research on Internet service provider liability.
