Bio

Dr. Margaret Baker is an assistant professor at Georgetown University in the Department of International Health. She teaches undergraduate classes in global health, maternal and child health, and health promotion and will be teaching a research methods class in the Global Health Masters course - beginning fall 2013. Her research agenda focuses on improving the delivery of interventions for Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs). Dr Baker is currently a member of the World Health Organization’s STAG Global Working Group on Capacity Strengthening for NTDs.

Dr Baker received her Masters in Science from the London School Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and her PhD in Tropical Medicine from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. Dr Baker has about 15 years experience in International Health, supporting projects in Latin America and the Caribbean, the South Pacific, Africa and Europe. Previous positions include working with ministries of health, the UK National Health Services, the Liverpool LF Support Centre, and RTI International on a USAID funded project.
