Bio
Michael Clemens is a research fellow at the Center for Global Development, where he conducts basic research on the effects of developed countries' policies on developing countries. Previously he has served as a consultant for the World Bank, Bain & Co., Environmental Defense, and the United Nations Development Program. He has worked and lived in Colombia, Brazil, and Turkey. He received his PhD in economics from Harvard University in 2002, and holds degrees in environmental engineering from Caltech and the Johns Hopkins University.
