Dr. Joseph Kile serves as Assistant Director for Economic Analysis in the Office of the Chief Economics at the U.S. General Accounting Office. In the role, he is responsible for directing and conducting economic analysis in projects requested by Congress. Dr. Kile's research is focused primarily on industrial organization issues in the transportation, energy, environment, and health care sectors of the economy. He has also assisted the Congress in their oversight of deregulation and the federal rule-making process. His research is published in numerous GAO reports to Congress and in scholarly publications. Dr. Kile joined the adjunct faculty at Georgetown in 1995 and has taught the Microeconomics and Tools for Economics Analysis courses. Prior to teaching at the GPPI, he was an Adjunct Professor of Economics at Beloit College in Wisconsin.
