Bio
Dr. Karen Stohr, a native of St. Louis, joined Georgetown's philosophy department in 2002 as an assistant professor. She is also a faculty affiliate in the Kennedy Institute of Ethics. Prior to coming to Georgetown, she taught for three years at Mount St. Mary's College in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
Professor Stohr's main research area is ethics, with a focus on Aristotelian virtue ethics and Kantian ethics. She is also interested in bioethics, particularly in the Catholic tradition. She is currently working on a manuscript on the relationship between morality and manners.
Professor Stohr lives in suburban Maryland with her husband, their two small daughters, and their two big dogs.
