Katie Fitzpatrick is an Economist at the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Economic Research Service where she focuses on food assistance policy. Her recent work examines how a family’s decision to own a bank account affects decisions to access credit and save. Other recent work has looked at the effect of the EITC on participation in the Food Stamp program, the effect of welfare reform policies on Food Stamp caseloads, and how the labor supply response to the EITC varies across metropolitan areas.
