Dr. Whitman has written book chapters on Social Entrepreneurship and on Education for the Social Economy (peer reviewed), and published articles pertaining to philanthropic foundations located in Canada, the United States, and Europe in Nonprofit Management & Leadership (peer reviewed) and articles on management and the environment in other journals and publications. While a member of the United States national team for the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, he authored two chapters on social entrepreneurship. He is co-author of Delivering Satisfaction and Service Quality: A customer-based approach for libraries, published by the American Library Association (2001) and is co-author of a book on the Social Economy of the United States, to be published by the University of Toronto Press (peer reviewed).
