Bio
Jonathan Ladd is an associate professor at Georgetown University, with appointments in the Public Policy Institute and the Department of Government. He serves as American Government Field Chair in the Department of Government. He studies American politics, with a focus on the news media and public opinion. He is the author of Why Americans Hate the Media and How it Matters (Princeton University Press, 2012), which examines the causes and consequences of the U.S. public's declining trust in the news media over the past 40 years. His other research explores the effects of opinionated news sources on election preferences, the connection between emotions and political choices, and the dynamics of presidential approval. His articles have appeared in the American Journal of Political Science, Public Opinion Quarterly, Political Behavior, and Political Psychology. For more information, see his homepage.
