Bio
José Cuesta is a Research Economist at the Inter-American Development Bank and Affiliated Professor at GIPP. Previously, he taught Development Economics at the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, and worked as a Research Economist for UNDP in Honduras. He has advised multiple governments in Latin America and the Caribbean, and has conducted research on social issues in Iraq and the Phillippines. His research interests include development economics, crime and conflict, analytics of public policy, poverty and social protection. He has published articles on those topics in Review of Income and Wealth, Applied Economics, Journal of International Development, Journal of Latin American Studies, Development Policy Review, Journal of the Asia Pacific Economies, European Journal of Development Research and Journal of Income Distribution, among others. He is currently working on the relationship between victimization and culture across the globe.
