My research interests focus primarily on regional conflicts, authoritarianism, and political/economic reform in the Arab states of the Middle East and North Africa. Hudson has a particular interest in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the Iraq situation, transnational Islamist and nationalist movements, Lebanese politics, U.S. policy in the Middle East, and the new media and information technologies in the region. Recent writings have focused on post 9/11 American policy toward the Arab world, the larger Middle East, and Islam.
