Bio
Darlene Howard's research investigates which cognitive and neural systems decline, and which are spared, in the course of aging. Her current work focuses on implicit forms of learning and memory, i.e., those occurring without conscious awareness or intention. Her lab uses both behavioral and neuroimaging techniques, including fMRI and Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI). This work is funded by a MERIT award from the National Institute on Aging. Professor Howard currently serves on the editorial boards of Journal of Experimental Psychology:Learning, Memory, & Cognition; Experimental Aging Research; and Aging, Neuropsychology & Cognition.
