Bio
Ellen J. Henderson, received her doctorate from Purdue University and in 1980 joined the Department of Biology at Georgetown. She is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, served as a Sigma Xi National Lecturer, and in 1991 received a 5 year national Science Foundation career achievement award.
Professor Henderson has been on the Board of the Society for Developmental Biology and review panels for N.S.F, N.I.H. and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. She received the Vice President’s Teaching Award in 1992 and the College Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence in 1998. She is now Professor and Chair of the Department of biology.
