Professor Filerman's research and teaching interests are in the areas of leadership development for health services, changing the behavior of providers in medical groups, health workforce policy, and global health development. He works on health provider improvement, the uses of continuing medical education, and how the rise of medical groups is changing the pattern of medical practice. He is currently working to develop a model of collaboration between health foundations.
