Bio
My research interest is in the teaching and learning of mathematical reasoning at the middle school through undergraduate levels. I taught middle school and high school mathematics for 13 years, and served as editor for the University of Chicago School Mathematics Project. In addition, I have held positions in private industry and government doing mathematical modeling and data analysis.
I currently teach Calculus I and am working with other math faculty to revise our calculus program to make it more effective and relevant. I'm also working with Professor James Sandefur to study how video can be used to help students learn to construct proofs in the Introduction to Proof course.
