Ladan Eshkevari is an Associate Professor in the nationally ranked graduate Nurse Anesthesia Program in the School of Nursing & Health Studies. She is also a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) and a certified acupuncturist. She is an expert in the area of anesthesia, pain management and alternative medicine. She is involved in the Special Masters Program in Physiology. She has also studied Traditional Chinese Medicine for over a decade. Professor Eshkevari completed her PhD at Georgetown University's Medical Center in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics. Her area of research is identifying physiologic markers for chronic stress and pain that are modulated by acupuncture.

She has also held several leadership positions at NHS, including Chair of Faculty, and is the current Assistant Program Director of the Nurse Anesthesia Program. She serves on University wide committees, is a member of the Senate, a Senate Officer (Treasurer & Secretary) and the University's Steering Committee.

Most notably, she was named the 2013 researcher of the year by Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing-Tau chapter; and again in 2014 she was awarded the John Garde Researcher of the Year Award by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, a leader in nursing organizations.
