Bio
Edward Kolla is an historian of European politics, culture, and international relations with a particular interest in the history of international law. He is currently preparing a book manuscript on the impact and effect of the French Revolution on international law, specifically tracing the emergence of popular sovereignty as a justification for claims to territory. He is also preparing articles on the origins of the Alien Tort Statute and on changing conceptions of natural law during the Enlightenment and their repercussions for international law.
