In December, 2005, Dr. Dritschilo was named the interim director of the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. He is also the interim associate vice president of the Georgetown University Medical Center, as well as the interim chair of the department of oncology. Dr. Dritschilo has over 20 years in clinical practice as a radiation oncologist, specializing in the treatment of breast and prostate cancer, radiation medicine, intraoperative radiation therapy, brachytherapy, three dimensional conformal radiotherapy. He is a translational scientist and has published more than 150 research articles in medical and scientific journals regarding the basic molecular mechanisms of cancer and the clinical translation of laboratory research to patient care. He received his training in Radiation Oncology from Harvard Medical School. He holds a series of patents in radiosurgery and stereotactic methods and is a well-known speaker in the fields of radiation and radiotherapy.
