Raj M. Desai
- Ph.D. (Harvard University), Associate Professor of International Development.
Prior to joining the faculty of the School of Foreign Service, Dr. Desai worked as an economist and private sector development specialist at the World Bank in Washington, D.C. He has taught at Harvard University and Charles University in Prague and is co-editor of Between State and Market: Mass Privatization in Transition Economies, as well as the author of numerous articles, book chapters, and monographs on issues of economic reform and development. Dr. Desai also serves as an occasional consultant to the World Bank Group, the Asian Development Bank, the United Nations Development Program, and other international organizations. He was an author of the World Bank's World Development Report 2005: A Better Investment Climate for Everyone.
