Bio

George G. Daly serves as Dean of the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University, a post he assumed on November 1, 2005. Previously, he was the Albert Fingerhut Professor of Business at the Stern School of Business of New York University. Professor Daly served as Dean of the Stern School from 1993 through 2002. During this period the Stern School advanced markedly in reputation, achieving top ten rankings for all of its degree programs for the first time and raising over $150 million in private donations.

Before his appointment at NYU, Daly was Dean and Professor of the College of Business Administration at the University of Iowa from 1983 to 1993 and Dean of the College of Social Sciences at the University of Houston from 1979 to 1983. Daly also served as chief economist in the Office of Energy Research and Development in the White House and as a consultant to the National Football League. In addition, he serves on a number of corporate and non-profit boards.

Dean Daly grew up in the Cleveland, Ohio area. He earned his undergraduate degree from Miami University in Ohio and both his masters and doctorate degrees from Northwestern University.
