Hugh Cloke retired in 2013 after forty years of full time service as a faculty member (English, American Studies) and dean in Georgetown College. He was the 2013 recipient of the Georgetown Alumni Association's Patrick Healy Award "established in 1969 to honor those who, although not Georgetown alumni, have distinguished themselves through a lifetime of outstanding achievement and service to Georgetown, the community and his or her profession. A maximum number of one Patrick Healy Award is bestowed annually."

He is the co-author of THE LONDON MINT OF CONSTANTIUS AND CONSTANTINE, AD 296-325 (Spink, 2015), a comprehensive listing of the known products of this mint during the period when Constantine rose to power in the Roman Empire.
