Bio
Professor Vaidya is a cognitive neuroscientist whose research focuses on understanding the cognitive and neural underpinnings of memory and cognitive control.
In one line of research, she has used behavioral studies with healthy adults, neurpsychological studies with memory disodered groups (e.g., amnesia, Alzheimer's disease), and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to characterize the functional neural architecture of human memory. More recently, she is using this multimodal approach to examine the development of memory systems.
In another line of research, she is using fMRI to examine the development of cognitive control in healthy children and in children diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
